Feather Extensions!

Two words: I want.

OMG, I want feather extensions soooo bad! I think I am going to DIY, and buy the goods from http://www.dohairextensions.com/ . I want to get the "grizzly" color, but they are out of them. So, I put myself ont he waiting list, and as soon as I get an email or call, I am going to buy my hair extension pulling hook hair extension wand, my blonde silicone lined feather beads, and my feathers! It wouldn't come out to too bad a price, shipping included, it would be $21.95. I consider this a bargain to the $85 plus tip it would cost at my salon...I am super duper excited for them! I am going to be a waitress over the summer, and something about a messy bun and having a feather stick out the bottom is absolutely adorable! Is that weird?...I feel like I second guess myself so much in these posts...

So, tell me what you think: do you like the idea of feather extensions?

If you need help doing your OWN feather extensions...here are two helpful videos I am going to use when I get mine....expect another update once I actually DO mine! hahaha

TWO posts in one day?! It's my blog....I can do whatever!

So Excited! The Royal Wedding (Of Course...)

Honestly, the Royal Wedding is super duper exciting for me. I was always the girly girl, even as a young young child, and my official goal in life was to become a princess. And Kate Middleon is actually going to become one! LUCKY. It sorta gives me hope, considering she was just a commoner, and she ended up marrying the future King of England!

This post has nothign to do with beauty. Though, I can ASSURE you that 90% of the beauty community on Blogger and YouTube are tuning in for the Royal Wedding. It is just too cute!

Maybe, you would like to know what I am going to wear? I know, I am ridiculous. I am actually dressing up for the Royal Wedding...at 2:30 my time. I can't even sleep because I'm so excited! Is that bad? hahah. Anyway, I asked a male's opinion of my outfit: a purple v-neck dress with cap sleeves and a cinched waist (maybe I will take a picture once I have it on). And, my nude pumps I wore for Easter. I like the combination. He said that it looked like something "someone rich and fancy and royal woudl wear." Considering he isn't too fashionably-in tact, I take that as a compliment.

And for my hair (Let me read your mind for a moment... This girl is absolutely koo-koo. She actually is waking up at 2:30 in the morning without any sleep to put on a dress, heels, a full face of makeup, adn do her hair all fancy, to sit on a couch sipping English tea and eating scones watching the royal wedding. What a loser....Trust me, I know this is pathetic. But, I think it is also sort of fun and goofy to be doing it at the same time.) I will be doing an updo (what all the royals do...). I am still between updos: perhaps the "funnel cake bun" I reviewed earlier, or a different hairstyle. It's always nice to try something new....right?

Okay, maybe a new post later guys, happy friday! TGIF!

It's Wednesday! Tips and Tricks to Get You Through the Week

Well, that was a long title, right? Haha, well lately I've been into happy things: is that weird? haha. Well, happy quotes, happy pictures: things that make me smile! So, my goal this week is to spread the love, and make strangers smile. So, here's some things to make you smile!

"Use your smile to change the world, don't let the world change your smile :)" -Unknown
"I believe in music the way some people believe in fairy tales." -Unknown
"I may not be there yet, but I'm closer than I was yesterday." -Unknown
"The best way to make your dreams come true is to wake up." -Paul Valery

Pamper yourself with this nice facial tonight! Quick and easy, using the things found in your kitchen!

You will need 1/3 cup of plain yogurt, 1 medium banana, and 1 tbs. honey. Mash up the banana, and combine with yogurt and honey until a paste forms. Apply this to your entire face, and don't forget your neck! Let this sit for 10-20 minutes. Then, rinse off with cold water. Your skin should feel moisturized and tight (but not dry!). Don't forget to apply your facial moisturizer after to lock in the moisture!

So, it's Wednesday, Friday is the day after tomorrow. We can get through the rest of this week. I challenge you all to wake up tomorrow, and "kill them with kindness!" Happy Wednesday!

The Anti-Makeup Girl's Guide to Makeup

"No makeup" makeup look anyone? My friend is very conservative, and does not agree with makeup being used on a daily basis---or on any basis, for that matter. Today I finally convinced her to play model for me and transform her into a chiseled beauty. What do I mean by that? She has cheekbones and even skin! Right now she is next to me, telling me the only reason she actually played model: I bought her dinner. Paninis!

Now, onto the no makeup makeup look, for lazy girls or girls who oppose makeup.

Step 1: Conceal any redness/blemishes/acne. I used Benefit's Erase Paste. Use a concealer brush, or just your clean fingers! Apply this in any under eye circles, redness, or blackheads to giev yourself a nice, even skintone.

Step 2: Blush! Find a nice rosy, pink shade and use a blush brush, or your clean fingers. Smile to find the apples of your cheeks, and swirl the blush onto your cheeks, then blend it up towards your temples.

Step 3: Add a smidge of bronzer. I applied bronzer straight to my blush brush, and had my model suck in her cheeks. Where her cheeks sunk in, I applied the bronzer. Make sure to blend out any harsh edges between your blush and bronzer!

Step 4: Eyeshadow. I chose a taupe color to just hide any oily lids. I just applied this all over the lid. Nothing too fancy. No crease or contour color.

Step 5: Mascara. My friend is extremely hesitant about eye makeup. When I told her we were going to add some mascara, well...it took some convincing to get her to do it. So, I literally just barely applied some black mascara. I used Josie Maran's Get One Give One Instant Natural Volume Argan Mascara. Well, that's a mouthful. I applied this to the tippy tops of her lashes, just to make them appear fuller, and her eyes bigger.

Step 6: Lips! This was another thing that my model was hesitant about. I used Victoria Secret's Beauty Rush Limited Edition Lip Gloss in Cherry Cola. She liked the smell of it! I took my lip brush and just applied a small amount to give her a dewy finish on her lips, but not too dewy!

Now, you're done! The finished product?:

Doesn't she look gorgeous? And not too made-up, either!

*cutting in here is the anti-make up friend- hey guys. if you are afraid to get your eyes poked out, let a trusted friend WHO WILL NOT POKE

So, have a wonderful night, lovelies. I will see you tomorrow with a cheerful post!

Easter Basket Haul!

Hello, beauties! I hope everyone's Easter was swell. I had a great Easter myself, considering I started this blog Easter night. I think I will tell you a little bit about my Easter before I get into everything I got.

So, I woke up around 8ish and I went downstairs and opened my Easter basket. Then, I searched around for Easter eggs (I won with the most amount of eggs found--11!). I made breakfast: biscotti, biscuits, bacon, eggs, muffins, sausage, more eggs. I have to say, I didn't even get to try everything because there was so much! And then I painted my nails....more on that in a few. And then I went to the grocery store to pick up a few things, and then I came home and gave my friend a TWO HOUR pedicure. Isn't that ridiculous?! Since it was Easter, I felt like doing a good deed, and I got new nail polishes so I was so excited, and yeah. If you want, I will actually do a blog about doing your own pedicures at home a little later in the week if you want? Sounds good. And anyway, after I gave my friend a pedicure, I curled my hair, did my makeup, got dressed, and then went over a family member's house for an Easter dinner.

If you wanted to know what I was wearing, here it is:
I actually found the dress and shoes at Marshall's, so I was really excited to wear it! And I curled my hair! :) yay!
So anyway! Easter Basket Haul! Let's see what I got for Easter!
Here is my Easter basket:
I didn't get an overload of stuff for Easter--I never do. And I sorta like it that way :)
So what I got was....!
  • A cute little stuffed doggie! Isn't he adorable???? He's from the March of Dimes organization.

  • Seven Subway Coupons! You will learn that I absolutely j'adore Subway. It is heaven! And I got these coupons for $1 off any Footlong Fresh Value Meal or 50 cents of any 6" Fresh Value Meal.
  • An ULTA Gift Card! YAY FOR THE EASTER BUNNY! I am so excited to use it!
  • Twizzlers, twizzlers, twizzlers! I got FOUR KING SIZED Twizzlers! Yes! My favorite part? Low-fat!
  • Hershey's with Almonds! You got to have some chocolate, right? Of course! Of course, it was the KING SIZED!
  • And now, my favorite part.....drum roll please? Three Essie Nail Polishes! I have been absolutely lusting the Turquoise and Caicos polish for over a month now, and I finally got it! It is the perfect Tiffany blue, except not the ACTUAL Tiffany blue, because, did you know that the color was patented?? Isn't that interesting? I found that out yesterday. Nonetheless, if any nail polish is as close to Tiffany blue as it could be, this would be the nail polish. I actually put this on my fingernails yesterday, I'll show a swatch below. I also got Haute as Hello, which is a gorrrrrgeous salmon-y/pink-y/orange. I love it! I didn't do this on my nails, but I applied it to my friend's nails, but I didn't get to take a picture of it, so no swatch for that one :( And finally, I got Lilacism from Essie as well. This is such a subtle lavender lilac purple color that is perfect for spring! It is sort of funny that I got this color because I was just watching a YouTube guru's spring nail color video, and I saw that color. I thought it was cute, but I didn't think much of it until I actually got it, and I was like fawning over it. So I applied that to my toes (swatch below) and I am really loving it. Oh! I put this color (two coats) on my friend's toes, and then I put Sally Hansen's Diamond Strength No-Chip Nail Color in Sweetheart Frost (one coat) over the Lilacism, with the top coat over that and all. Let me tell you: gorgeous!
Alright, so this was quite a long post, thank you very much if you have actually read up to this point! Haha, okay, so that is what I got in my Easter basket. Leave a comment and let me know what you got in your Easter basket, I would love to know!

I Did It!: MissGlamorazzi's Funnel Cake Updo

Hi there, again! Haha, so I was searching Youtube for a hairstyle for my to wear in my second day hair, or to school, because I'm lazy for school haha. And, I came across this fabulous channel I had never watched before: MissGlamorazzi. As I was searching through her videos, I found her funnel cake updo! It seemed really easy and fun and cute. I thought it would be adorable. Unfortunately, I just got my own ahir cut a tad too short a few months back, and I'm still trying to grow it out more, so it wouldn't work on my hair. Nonetheless, I tried it on a friend's hair, and I have to say, it turned out really well!

So here is MissGlamorazzi's Funnel Cake Updo:
And here is mine!
Forgive the horrid flash, I'm still working on my photography skills. :)
So, I think they're pretty similar. This was my first try, and it sort of took me a little while. It actually depends on how long you take doing your hair. For me, its normally a brush through with a brush and a straightener, and then I'm out (time: 5 minutes). This hairstyle took me about fifteen minutes, and I did each section once only. Though, I feel like this is an adorable hairstyle. It looks like you put in a lot of time doing your hair, like forty minutes, but it only took about fifteen. Since I did it on someone else's hair, I think it was easier. If I had done it on my own hair, my opinion is that it would have taken longer. Perhaps I will try it on my hair tomorrow, though it may not be long enough. So yeah, here is my rating for this hairdo:

Time consumability: ☆☆☆☆
Easiness: ☆☆☆☆☆
Appearance: ☆☆☆☆☆

Welcome to Beauty, Brains, What Else? !

Hi there! Welcome to my blog, Beauty, Brains, What Else?! I know it's sort of corny, the title I mean, but I think it is sort of fun and quirky. So right now it is 1:30 in the morning, and I cannot sleep! So, I ahve been thinking about doing this blog for a while. I was either going to do a blog or a Youtube channel, and I decided to do a blog. So, obviously, here I am. I am honestly going to try to keep this up as well as I can. Obviously, I have schoolwork and everything, so it might be hard. But, who knows? Let's see where this takes us.

Well, what was I planning to do on my blog? Well, obviously, from the title, I am interested in beauty. I am actually quite intelligent too (I think), but back to the main point. Beauty. Health.  Fashion. Makeup. Skincare. Everything about beauty and health is so fascinating and interesting to me, I just wanted to share a lot of my knowledge on the subject with you. I think I am going to be doing reviews of products, DIYs, tutorials(?), and just other things of that nature....so yeah.

So, I am absolutely, by no means a professional. Oh gosh: no. I am not. At all. So please, don't start with that!

I am going to put another post up directly after this post, not sure yet what about. But, nonetheless, since it will be my first "real" blog post (I don't really count this one haha), I have to make it good!

Bye bye!
